What we collect
When you request a quote, we ask for:
- your name;
- your phone number;
- your email address;
- the service you are interested in, if you tell us; and
- anything you write in the message box.
We also record which page the enquiry was sent from, and the date and time. If you sign up to our newsletter we store only your email address.
We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or any special category data through this website. Please do not send them in the message box.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use enquiry details to respond to you, arrange a survey or quote, and carry out work you ask us to do. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us about a service and we need your details to reply. Where a quote leads to work, we rely on performance of a contract.
Newsletter signups rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us, and we will stop sending.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database and may also be sent to our team by email so we can respond promptly. Our website hosting and database providers process this data on our behalf under contract, and hold it on servers in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. Where we have carried out work for you, we keep records for longer to meet warranty, accounting and legal obligations. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Who can see it
Access is limited to Gap Project staff who need it to respond to you, and to our service providers acting on our instructions. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Cookies
We use essential cookies needed to make the site work. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner, and choosing “Reject all” means none are set. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it. To make a request, email info@gapproject.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
